7 app developers you can trust

Earlier this week I mentioned the number of “educational” apps available (about 20,000 on iTunes alone!) Just like we have book publishers or authors that we follow, I have found some app developers that I trust for working with students with special needs. These include:

  • Super Duper
  • Toca Boca
  • Eggroll Games
  • Different Roads to Learning
  • MyFirstApp
  • Launchpad Toys
  • Motion Math

If you’re new to the iPad, before you start with any of these apps you should take a look at the Apps in the Classroom guide created by Apple. I think they do a good job in detailing questions you should ask at each stage of implementing iPads in your instruction.  Graphite.org also provides teacher reviews of all sorts of apps and makes it easy to search by age level and/or subject. And please comment if you have any app developers you’ve found and trust. I’m always on the lookout!
