The goal with the blog is to make it as easy as possible to find games, apps, toys, and books to teach specific skills. There are six main ways to accomplish this:
Search by Category- In the right hand panel of the home page, you’ll see a menu labelled “Search by Category.” This menu has been split into 11 categories. Click on a category, and you’ll see many options within that category. You can click on any one of those choices to see a sample of how to teach that skill within the category you chose.
Search by Skill – Below the “Search by Category” menu, you’ll see a “Search by Skill” drop down menu. This is an alphabetized list of ALL the skills on the site. Click on any skill and it will take you to a page showing every activity I’ve discussed for practicing it.
Search by Assessment – Every post on the blog is cross-referenced with both the ABLLS and the VB-MAPP. You can use the Search box at the bottom of any page to type in the code from the ABLLS, such as G39 to show all items featured that practice that skill. You can also type in the category and corresponding number from the VB-MAPP, such as “Social Behavior 5” to show all items featured that practice that skill. I am currently working to improve this search feature, so stay tuned!
Leave Comments – Many of my best tools and ideas come from other teachers. If you have used any of the items shown on the site, please share your experience!
Subscribe – Subscribing to the blog not only updates you each time a post has been made, but also provides you with a monthly e-mail that shares additional resources and news. Your e-mail will not be used for any other purpose, and you will not receive more than one newsletter in a given month.
Share – If you’ve had success with games, toys, and apps that are not featured on the blog, let me know! I’m always curious to find new resources, and I’m also open to having guest bloggers post.
